WINDOWS 11 RELEASE

It’s coming! Microsoft has announced that Windows 11 will be officially released on October 5, 2021. This is the first major release of Microsoft Windows in over 6 years and includes a host of great new features.

The R&D Team here at Expera IT has been testing out the pre-release versions of Windows 11 and so far, things are looking great! With a new fresh and modern visual design and sounds, the new UI brings a sense of calm and ease. New screen layouts make multi-tasking a breeze. Windows 11 further integrates the power of the cloud and Microsoft 365 with feeds powered by AI and integration of Teams chat in the taskbar. There are a host of new features that enhances both productivity and security.
Microsoft has announced that the free upgrade will roll out over time to eligible devices based on intelligence models that consider hardware eligibility, reliability metrics, age of device and other factors that impact the upgrade experience. It is expected that all eligible devices will have access to the upgrade by mid-2022.

Now you probably have the question: When should your business upgrade to Windows 11?

As with any major operating system upgrade, it is critical for businesses to take a measured approach to rolling things out. It’s imperative that testing is performed to ensure that all applications are supported and operate without issues. In many cases, you may need to wait for vendors to release updates that ensure full compatibility with Windows 11. We recommend being patient with the testing and rollout and to wait until early2022 when the new OS is fully stable before doing a mass deployment.
